I am based in Brighton & London and I currently offer psychotherapy online to adults throughout the UK that are looking for a South Asian LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist to support them with family trauma.
-
My practice recognises LGBTQIA+ identities as valid and valued. You do not need to educate me about or justify your identity.
We can explore sexuality, gender, relationships, family, culture and belonging in ways that respect your individual experience and don’t require you to do extra emotional labour.
-
Working with a South Asian, LGBTQIA+ affirming and open minded therapist means you will be able to understand and heal from family and intergenerational trauma without being forced to reject your culture, family or identity.
If you are looking for someone that just gets it. I have often heard people wanting to see a therapist who is a person of colour but they are scared of judgement - I assure you, I prioritise openness and acceptance.
-
I believe that every person and their situation is unique - one of the wonderful things about cultures of the global majority is our sense of community and collectivism.
However this can make it very difficult to take space and protect yourself when you need to.
I think it’s a very hard decision and my job is to be there for you whichever decision you come to.
I will support you every step of the way.

Yes! I am a British South Asian Therapist - my background is Indian Punjabi. I use my knowledge and lived experience of South Asian history to guide my understanding of a client and their family dynamics.
Often with immigrant families - the trauma has been passed down through generations due to migration, genocide, colonialism and war.
-
I offer culturally responsive, LGBTQIA+-affirming online therapy for generational trauma, difficult family dynamics, identity and belonging.
My therapeutic modality is integrative which incorporates elements of Psychodynamic, Person centred and CBT.
I have been deeply influenced by Internal Family Systems/Parts Work and Trauma and the Body.
-
I do not offer monthly therapy slots to clients - in order to build a strong working relationship I strongly encourage weekly sessions, my experience is that weekly sessions often means faster progress and less time spent in therapy overall.
I do however offer fortnightly sessions as I understand this can help to spread the cost.
-
I am currently not able to see therapy clients under the age of 18 but I am happy to refer you to a colleague if you would like.
-
I am currently based between London and Brighton.

I see LGBTQIA+ clients in my practice, I also sex positive, kink friendly and aware of alternate relationship dynamics like polyamory, relationship anarchy and ENM.
I understand how hard it is to talk to an indian/south asian person about these things and wonder if you will feel judged or shamed, I assure you I am very open minded and non judgemental.
